Description

The club was founded on 30 September 1993 when 32 intrepid Scrabblers braved the appalling weather conditions for a 'night on the tiles' ! Philip Nelkon (4 times national champion) joined us for the occasion and gave a demonstration of simultaneous Scrabble against 12 of those gathered. We moved to our present premises, a delightful building in the centre of Hove, in 1998.

Club nights are relaxed and informal, with the opportunity to play several games in one evening (the record being about 8!). Each Christmas we have a social event, and in the summer some members even partake of a Scrabble holiday!

There are ample opportunities to meet Scrabble players from other areas too. We currently enter three teams in the Southern Counties Scrabble League , whilst those who are interested will be able to find out details of tournaments held in the locality and further afield.
